Since 1997, Oceanside Church has been led by Mike and Deborah Graves. What started as a church in the basement with a CD changer for a worship band, their three children as the congregation, and a kitchen table as a pulpit has blossomed into the church we see today. God's faithfulness has been so evident throughout the history of Oceanside, we know and believe that He will continue to be faithful in our next season.
Mike and Deborah have felt the call to pass the torch. Over the last few years, they've had their eyes, ears, and hearts open to find who would be the next leaders of Oceanside Church, and the choice was made clear to them that Andy and Camilla Arnold were the ones to take it on.
Transitions are always filled with mixed emotions - excitement for the future, but nostalgia for the past, hope for things to come, but uncertainty about what might happen - but through it all, we know that it's in God's hands, and we know His plans are good.
We celebrated the weekend with an anniversary party in honour of 25 years as Oceanside Church. The first ever Ocea-ey awards were handed out to the sounds of roaring laughter and thunderous applause, and the dance floor was full of new and old friends, children and grandparents, and maybe a laser beam or two! Sunday morning, we were joined by Ivor and Jakki Lewis who shared a message and and blessing for our new leaders.
We honour and thank Mike and Debs for their love, commitment, blood, sweat, and tears poured into this church, and we welcome Andy and Camilla into their new roles.
