How Do I Even Pray?
Maybe this is a question you've asked yourself—I know I have. It's a question that has been asked by millions of people throughout history, including the disciples of Jesus.
The idea of talking to God can feel huge and, honestly, sometimes a bit vague. While there's no “perfect” way or formula for prayer, the Bible provides guidance to help us take our first steps into learning how to pray.
Maybe you're new to following Jesus, or perhaps you're just interested in exploring this whole "Jesus thing" and want to hear more. Wherever you're at, prayer is for you, and we believe that as you seek God in prayer, He promises to reveal Himself to you!
For four weeks on Sunday mornings, we'll tackle this question and idea together. We'll learn what Jesus and the Bible teach about prayer, exploring different approaches and blueprints to help us begin testing the waters. Each week, we'll cover one of four main ideas:
Each session will feature a 30-minute video, split into two sections, followed by discussions about the content. We'll then introduce a specific prayer practice you can try at home during the week. In small groups, you'll have the opportunity to share your experiences, encourage one another, and listen to each other's stories about prayer and spending time with God.
If you've ever been curious about prayer or asked yourself, "How do I pray?"—this class is for you! Sign up today—we'd love to see you Sunday mornings starting April 27th!
There's also a companion guide available for participants to download and print. This guide describes the prayer practices for each week and offers suggestions and resources for those who want to explore deeper. You can find the companion guide here: Prayer Practice Companion Guide
