Expanding Youth on Sundays

Hi parents!

In recent weeks, God has put it on our hearts to start a new group for youth on Sunday mornings. This Sunday, we will be inviting youth who are 13 and older to join our youth leaders over at The Junction after the worship time.

This first weekend will be a one-off, but we are hoping in the coming weeks to establish a more frequent place for youth to gather for bible-study on Sundays. We dont want to remove youth from the larger service altogether. Instead, our heart is to establish an optional group that takes place twice or three times a month, which serves as a more fruitful time to experience Gods word together, especially for the younger-youth.

As I look out when preaching on a Sunday morning we have recognized this age demographic is underrepresented, so we want to steer more resources and ministry in their direction!

When kids graduate from ONE80 Kids into Youth, we hope to ease them into the adult meetings in a better way in the years to come. We know most of our younger-youth have a hard time sitting through the sermon, and that it is not the most fruitful way for them to learn.

Also starting this Sunday, the youth leaders will also be inviting the youth to sit together on the far side of the auditorium, on the black chairs, during worship. Both sitting together and bible study at The Junction are optional, but we are hoping to create a real community in this age group.

So, this Sunday, bring your youth-aged children, and before the sermon but after the worship, have them come over the road to our office building.
